Last week I talked about JR and public art. This week I would like to share another inspiring project related to public art. Established in 2007, the project is called “Spreading joy around the world”. The creator of the giant rubber duck, Florentijn Hofman, tried to entertain the world through recalling everyone’s childhood memories by exhibiting the duck in a lot of cities.
One thing I like about this project is that it let the public become the photographers. I still remember when this project launched in Beijing last year. All my social sites were full of rubber duck photos taken by my friends. Social media helps this project become more and more popular. At the same time, it helps cities develop their tourism.
